3 idiots (2009)
3 idiots Comedy drama film loosely adapted from the bestseller ‘Five Point Someone’. Three room-mates (SRK, R Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi) struggle in an engineering college, tackling the performance pressure of their strict and orthodox dean (Boman Irani). The film dealt heavy topics in the lightest manner possible.
Golmaal series (by Rohit Shetty)
Director Rohit Shetty is synonymous with action and comedy. His forte in comedy did not disappoint the audience as he directed 3 movies under the name ‘Golmaal’. All these are super hit comedy films with their backdrops in Goa. Stories may be different but One character, ‘Lucky’, a mute person (played by Tushar Kapoor) is common in all Three.
Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai(2003 and 2006)
Director Raj Kumar Hirani gave Bollywood, Two epic comedy movies. Munna Bhai (Sanjay Dutt) as the name says, is a local goon in both the movies. Robin to this Batman is Circuit (played by Arshad Waarsi). With their local Mumbai dialect and their mischief’s, Munna bhai and Circuit Jodi won everyone’s heart.
Hera Pheri (2000)
Hera Pheri movie has achieved the status of ‘cult classic’ for a reason. A telephone cross-connectioncall changed the lives of broke Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Sunil Shetty) and Babubhaiya (PareshRawal). They think of a harmless and easy money-making scheme but their plan didn’t execute as they had thought but the audience had a good laugh for sure.
Andaz Apna Apna (1994)
This movie is like a good scotch, a flop then and a cult classic today. It had barely managed to recover its cost when it got released in 1994. The Amar (Aamir Khan) and Prem (Salman Khan) duo, Crime master Gogo (Shakti Kapoor) and many witty sequences are the reasons why we all love this flick.
A very apt adaptation of Shakespeare’s play ‘Comedy Of Errors’. Loads of chaos and dollops of humor makes it one of the best. Story of Two pair of identical twins will make you roll over the floor.
Audience connects with Golmaal as an old Golmaal (Amol Palekar’s) and a new one (Rohit Shetty’s) and both have managed to maintain their status but as they say, ‘Old is Gold’. It is a story of RamPrasad (Amol Palekar), who tries to fool hi employer BhavaniShankar (UtpalDutt) again to again to make him believe that he is as conservative as Bhavani Shankar. Every time Ram Prasad lies to Bhavani Shankar, we can hear the sound ‘Gooooolmaaaaal. Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt look adorable together.
Chup Chup ke (1975)
Amitabh Bachchan’s and Dharmendra’s Jodi is flawless. They both appeared together in Sholay and Chupke Chupke in the same year. Movie is a comedy flick of a professor Pyarelal (Dharmendra) and his wife Sulekha (Sharmila Tagore). The couple plays several pranks on the sophisticated and intellectual jijaji (Om Prakash). Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of professor Sukumar Sinha, a long time friend of Pyarelal.
Padosan Movie Starring Mehmood, Sunil Dutt, Kishore Kumar, Keshto Mukherjee and Saira Banu. Movie is an all-time favorite. Music by R.D. Burman has set everyone to the dancing tunes. The competition between Two music rivals Bola (Sunil Dutt) and Master Pillai (Mehmood) compete to impress a girl Bindu (SairaBanu). The song ‘mere saamne waali khidki’ is popular.
